    Unfortunately as the sim progresses, the point deformer makes the model more wanky adding distortions and deformations that have nothing to do with the sim. Would be good if SideFX added a geometry output(like in Vellum) that works out these inconsistencies.

    If a client asks a shot to be delivered in 4K , what resolution would you work in, i.e, the renders & comps - would it be in 2K / 4K?

    Just to add a little information for anyone that isn't familiar with USD. There are certain attributes that have specific names for USD. Color(Cd in Houdini) get converted to their proper USD names which in this case is displayColor. There are a number of others with pscale actually being one that gets converted in Houdini. Pscale gets changed to width or widths. These are USD specific attributes that all programs that have integrated USD will look for. What a weird thing that attribute delete makes them show up. I don't use Blender so I'll never use it but interesting tip. I wonder if the clean node works as well or if it's a specific thing to the attribute delete node.

    This is what I was looking for nowadays. I imported my sand in blender 4.2 and didn't find where to change pscale then moved back to blender 4.0 and did my job done.

    Did my comment get deleted? Just wanted to say that resimming was not necessary. To split/group/blast by attribute, you only have to specify the attribute. In this case: @source_name=mpmsource1

      @@VFXCentral Groups From Name node is a real handy node if there is going to be lots of geo inputs, and even if the input geo already has existing name attributes to identify different parts. MPM wil not only create a source_name attribute but append the name of that attribute with the existing name attribute/s on the geo. Makes it much easier to find and isolate if there's lots of post work to be done ; less typing too.

    Hi, love your streams ! I picked up the agx ocio thing for nuke. I am a bit confused though, because you did it so quickly and there are tons of options in nuke. Does the workingspace need to be linear or agx and if, which(there are 2). Also the footage looks washed out, when i set the workingspace to agx ........ ?????? Could you maybe explain that in more detail in a future video ?

    The extensions is not meant to be a competition for blender market, it might end up being that way down the line, who knows. But there is a system set up in there to allow other market sites to provide access to download your purchased addons through the extensions system. It looks like its still being worked on. Also the blender community can be pretty funny sometimes. Ive seen a lot of complaints about the new extension system, mostly just about the change and why would they change what works. But the community asked for a way to update addons within blender.

    1:44:34 Your great man, You need to make a self marketing on youtube from free tutorials not live stream, And make a paid tutorials, Your live streams it's really what the bigginer and mid people looking for, but unfortunately the live can not make a lot of views so replace it with tutorials, I'm sure if this live was a video tutorila it will got a lot of view it's really great and included a bunch of information, Patreon it's great but with time you will bored and leave it, but every mounth 1 or 2 free video about smothing unique and one really unique paid video, will be a long tearm plan All the best man, Keep going.

    Such a nice example of comping 3D, thanks! Content on business side sounds great. Especially if you're more into it. Patreon could be cool depending on what you offer. Maybe do more to the point tutorials there, and then your open livestreams on socials like you are now. Assets are nice and all, but really like Patreon for more premium content and viewer interaction.

    I really like your videos, I have learned a lot Bro, a question Is there any chance you can make a tutorial on how to bring a fluid simulation along with textures to Unreal Engine? I've searched for days and days on the internet and I haven't found something that would work for me, it would be great if you could make one.

      I have never done that. I am sure I could learn it :) in my mind, you would just export out an alembic or fbx file. and you could use the Cd attribute from houdini to drive the color from houdini to unreal

    It's better to label the final null that is to be later imported, OUT_NAME_SOMETHING. That way, Houdini lists it at the top when one is looking for it
